Karolina wowed the judges in San Juan with her stunning persona and extraordinary public speaking abilities. When this was combined with a ground breaking “Beauty With A Purpose” Project. - Karolina Bielawska was crowned the 70th Miss World!
Karolina revealed that that she has joined “Zupa Na Pietrynie" ,a group of like minded people people with huge hearts and the desire to help others.
“We provide hot meals, food packages, masks and clothing for homeless and people in need. Every Sunday we try to meet not only their physical needs, but also share a smile, kind word and our time with them. Every one of us is unique and has something to offer that somebody else needs. I wanted to help because I thought I could make a difference in their lives but that moment also helped me and changed my life. I realise now that while sharing what we have with others, we can create those little “miracles” and make the world a better place for everyone, including ourselves.”
In addition, to her dedication to feeding, clothing and counselling the homeless people on the streets in her community, Karolina has played an important part in the building of a communal bathroom and shower block for the people living on the streets in Łódź.
“Once we completed the project - the effect was incredible - the street people felt like human beings again as they were clean and fresh and from this small beginning, they gained the confidence to get further help to improve their lives.”
It’s now Karolina’s hope that other cities will follow the Łódź example.
“I truly believe in the magical story that Julia Morley Miss World Chairman and CEO tells every Miss World Contestant when they arrive for the Final.
On a visit to Singapore in 1972, Julia Morley, looked out from her hotel window and saw an old lady washing and feeding several street children. The old lady continued to do the washing and feeding at the same time every day!
Julia was curious and questioned as to why she did this every day, if the same problem would still be there tomorrow? The old lady simply replied: “Isn’t it better to light one candle in the dark than not to see at all?”
It was a defining moment that became Julia’s inspiration to launch one of the world’s greatest Humanitarian and Community Service programmes.
Julia Morley came home and lit her candle in the dark naming it "Beauty with a Purpose." and soon after Julia implored each and every Miss World contestant to do the same. Now I have lit my “candle in the dark” and hopefully I will inspire many others to do the same”
Since Karolina was crowned in March 2022, she has traveled to nearly half of the 40 countries that she is due to visit during her reign, helping to raise millions of dollars and creating impactful change wherever she travels.
When she hands over her crown Karolina will have broken all records having visited more countries and supported more humanitarian projects than any previous Miss World!
