Mostapha Tahiri is president of State Street Alpha, chairman of Asia Pacific and a member of State Street’s Executive Committee. He leads Alpha, Charles River Development and a suite of platform solutions.
Alpha is State Street’s leading front-to-back integrated platform. It combines Charles River’s front-office technology with State Street’s servicing, markets and data capabilities to give institutional investors a connected experience across the investment lifecycle. As president, Mostapha is responsible for the business’s growth, product strategy, technology and client delivery. Alpha is one of State Street’s most differentiated businesses and a core strategic priority for the firm.
Mostapha previously served as State Street’s chief operating officer, with responsibility for global technology, operations and client service delivery. He also helped lead the firm’s enterprise transformation, advancing the use of data and AI while modernizing technology and the way the firm operates.
Having worked across four continents, Mostapha brings nearly 30 years of experience in asset management, asset servicing, investment platforms and financial technology. Before joining State Street in 2020, he spent 22 years at BNP Paribas, most recently as head of Asia Pacific for BNP Paribas Securities Services. At State Street, he led the Asia Pacific business before expanding his regional responsibilities to the Middle East and North Africa. As chairman of Asia Pacific, he oversees relationships with key clients, regulators and strategic partners across the region.
Throughout his career, Mostapha has focused on connecting client needs with technology and innovation, and on developing diverse, high-performing teams. He holds a master’s degree in finance and technology from Télécom SudParis in France.
