View LinkedIn profileMunir Duri is the Founder and CEO of Kifiya Financial Technology PLC, an Ethiopia-born, pan-African company building AI-powered risk decisioning, financial, and market infrastructure for emerging economies. Under his leadership, Kifiya has evolved from a payments provider into an AI technology ecosystem infrastructure that enables banks, non-bank financial institutions, and digital marketplaces to expand economic opportunities for MSMEs, smallholder farmers (SHFs), and low- and middle-income communities.
Kifiya pioneered data-driven credit scoring and large-scale uncollateralized digital lending, while also building agri-value-chain and market-linkage infrastructure that connects smallholder farmers to finance, inputs, insurance, and markets. Kifiya’s platforms reduce risk, strengthen market linkages, and crowd in capital at scale.
A thought leader in inclusive digital finance and marketplace models, Munir is a recipient of the Mastercard Foundation Zambezi Prize and the IFC SME Finance Forum’s Product Innovation of the Year award. He regularly speaks on AI-enabled risk decisioning, financial and market infrastructure, and the role of technology in unlocking sustainable growth across emerging economies.

About this session
Billions of people and small businesses remain outside formal credit because financial institutions cannot reliably identify, assess or price their risk.
