Sohini Rajola

As the Executive Director – Growth with NPCI, Sohini brings in a wealth of experience and a strong passion for building impactful financial solutions.

With her experience spanning payments, banking and digital, she is a keen observer of Fintech developments and mentors’ start-ups.

At NPCI, Sohini is focused on making NPCI’s payment products more accessible, useful, and widely adopted. From improving what’s already working to exploring fresh ideas, Sohini is helping shape how NPCI connects with both institutions and everyday users.

A big part of her work also involves collaborating with banks, fintechs, regulators, and government bodies — all with the goal of strengthening NPCI’s reach and relevance in the market.

With over two decades in the banking and payments industry, Sohini has worn many hats. Before NPCI, Sohini led Western Union’s business across the Asia Pacific region where she was responsible for driving the omni channel strategy of the company, expanding products and partnerships, in addition to delivering on the sales, revenue and customer metrics. With her passion about Diversity & Inclusion in the workplace Sohini was also an esteemed member of Women@WU Committee

Prior to Western Union, Sohini has worked with Axis Bank in India for a period of 18 years, holding the position of Senior Vice President and Head - Digital Banking where she was responsible for designing and leading the digital strategy of the Bank. She also held the position of Card and Payment Head for the bank and was responsible for launching, leading and turning around the credit card business for the bank.

Sohini holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Marketing and Finance) from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies and a Bachelor of Science from Maharani’s College, Jaipur.
