Global AML/CFT standards are at a pivotal moment, with the 2025 FATF revisions promoting a risk-based approach that strengthens financial integrity without undermining financial inclusion. Yet in practice, this balance is hard to achieve as conservative implementation of AML/CFT measures often continues to restrict access, leaving low-income and cross-border users excluded. This roundtable will bring together regulators, providers, and development partners to explore how integrity and inclusion can reinforce each other rather than pull in opposite directions. The session will be interactive with short inputs from speakers, guided discussions, and Q&A, and will focus on practical approaches and opportunities for collaboration.
This roundtable will bring together regulators, providers, and development partners to explore how integrity and inclusion can reinforce each other rather than pull in opposite directions. We’ll spotlight solutions and policy approaches that help policymakers and FSPs implement proportionate AML/CFT in practice, share experiences from different stakeholders, and test appetite for collaborative tools that could make implementation easier. The session will be interactive, with short inputs, guided discussions, and Q&A.
