      Gaurang Shah is the Executive Vice President leading Mastercard's Global Acceptance and Merchant Solutions business.

      Gaurang Shah is a global payments and financial services executive with over two decades of experience building, scaling, and leading large scale platforms across developed and emerging markets.

      He currently serves as Executive Vice President, Global Acceptance & Merchant Solutions at Mastercard, where he leads global strategy and execution for one of the world’s largest and most complex payment ecosystems. In this role, Gaurang has full accountability for driving the secular shift from cash to digital, delivering global P&L performance across revenue and expense, and advancing Mastercard’s merchant facing platforms to enable secure, scalable commerce worldwide.

      Gaurang is responsible for the product strategy and evolution of Mastercard’s global acceptance solutions and brand agnostic gateway and services assets supporting the merchant ecosystem. Under his leadership, teams have delivered customer centric, interoperable solutions that enable merchants, financial institutions, fintechs, and platform partners to seamlessly accept global payment methods and unlock Mastercard’s expanding portfolio of value added services. His work ensures Mastercard’s payments products not only drive usage at scale, but also shape the future of commerce experiences.
      Leading globally distributed teams across five continents, spanning engineering, product, and commercial organizations, Gaurang has built high performing, diverse teams focused on disciplined execution, innovation, and customer impact.

      For more than a decade, Gaurang has been a leading advocate of Mastercard’s technological innovation agenda—driving transformation from single rail card networks to multi rail, interoperable payment ecosystems. His work spans cards, real time payments, digital wallets, gateways, cross border services, open banking, and emerging digital rails, accelerating cash to digital transitions and strengthening national and regional payment infrastructure.
      Throughout his career, Gaurang has held senior leadership roles across global products, acceptance, processing, emerging payments, and financial inclusion, with deep operating experience across EEMEA, MEA, South Asia, and global markets. He has led multi billion dollar portfolios and complex matrixed organizations, with end to end accountability for strategy, commercialization, partnerships, regulatory engagement, and financial performance.

      A core strength of Gaurang’s leadership is operating at the intersection of technology, regulation, and ecosystem partnerships. He works closely with governments, central banks, regulators, financial institutions, and fintechs to modernize payments and financial services at national and multi country scale—supporting sustainable economic growth and inclusive innovation.
      Gaurang is deeply committed to financial inclusion, SME enablement, sustainability, and long term value creation, and is known for a leadership style that balances customer centricity, operational rigor, and global talent development.
