Will directs Thought Machine’s product strategy, translating market needs into clear development priorities. Having served previously as CTO, he guides product strategy with a deep understanding of the technology.
Prior to co-founding Thought Machine in 2014, Will was a senior software engineer at Google where he worked on their advertising systems accounting for 80% of company revenues. Will became an expert in cloud technology while working on Ad Exchange, a large-scale real-time auction platform, before becoming Technical Lead of mobile ads on the AdSense network.
Will received an MPhil in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge and a first class degree in Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh.

About this session
Core banking functions such as credit decisions, trade finance, fraud detection and KYC are shifting from pilot demonstrations into live, algorithm-driven workflows, and the institutions pulling ahead are rebuilding these processes end to end rather than adding AI on top of what already exists.
This session brings together the people actually doing that rebuild - the platforms it runs on, the institutions deploying it, and the regulators overseeing it - to work through what that rebuild actually requires: which controls move from human sign-off to automated checkpoints, and where the audit trail needs redesigning rather than retrofitting. -
