President & Co-founder, FailSafe

Foo Wui Ngiap is the Co-Founder and President of FailSafe, a cybersecurity company safeguarding the next generation of digital infrastructure at the intersection of AI and blockchain. At FailSafe, Wui is spearheading the development of enterprise-grade security and compliance platforms designed to help organizations launch and operate smart contracts, decentralized protocols, and AI systems with confidence. His work focuses on bridging cutting-edge technology with real-world governance, ensuring that innovation in digital assets and AI can scale without compromising safety, trust, or compliance.

Wui brings nearly two decades of experience across technology leadership, data science, and risk. He was the Founding Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of Engineering at Grab, where he built the company’s core engineering and security functions from the ground up, scaling them to support millions of users across payments, lending, and digital services. Earlier in his career, he worked at Credit Suisse, then Google, helping shape the risk and fraud protection landscape at Youtube, Gmail and Google+.

At FailSafe, his focus is on solving one of the most urgent challenges of our era: delivering robust runtime security, automated monitoring, and regulatory readiness as billions of dollars in stablecoins, tokenized assets, and AI-driven decision systems move on-chain. He is passionate about designing systems that balance innovation with safety, empowering enterprises, protocols, and regulators to navigate the new frontier of cyber risk. Outside of work, Wui finds calm in the simple things - like breeding guppies in the lily pond on his balcony.
