Shiv is the Co-Founder of DMI Group which consists of DMI Finance, DMI Housing Finance and DMI Alternative Investments, along with a number of joint ventures and acquisitions under these umbrellas.
DMI Finance, an NBFC regulated by the RBI, is a leading player in consumer and SME lending. It partners with demand aggregators and fintechs to provide fast and efficient credit access to the entire spectrum of Bureau-thick, Bureau-thin and New-to-Credit borrowers. DMI aims to be the non-bank lending partner of choice for the credit ecosystem in India with a relentless focus on delivering technology-driven solutions to all aspects of the consumer and small business credit supply chain. DMI Housing Finance is a regulated home loan provider while DMI Alternative Investments is the manager of a family of funds that range in focus from real estate private equity to early stage venture investing.
A 30-year veteran of international financial markets, Shiv’s decades of experience in Global Fixed-Income trading and analytics complement and inform DMI’s activities. Prior to co-founding DMI, he spent over thirteen years at Salomon Brothers, a storied fixed-income powerhouse that was eventually acquired by Citigroup. Shiv became Co-Head of all securitized products trading in North America for Citigroup in 2004 before leaving in 2008 to start DMI.
He graduated from Harvard University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Applied Mathematics. Shiv is passionate about emergent technology and is an active angel investor in start-ups.
