Dr. Pucktada Treeratpituk

Director, Bank of Thailand

Pucktada Treeratpituk currently serves as Director of the Payment Systems and Financial Technology Policy Department at the Bank of Thailand (BOT). In this role, he leads the formulation of national policies on fintech innovation and tokenization, and oversees BOT’s Regulatory Sandbox, which enables responsible testing of emerging technologies such as programmable payments, digital identity, tokenized assets, and AI in finance. Through these efforts, he is committed to advancing Thailand’s fintech ecosystem and promoting financial innovation that is inclusive, sustainable, and trusted.

Previously, he was a Research Section Head at the Puey Ungphakorn Institute for Economic Research and a Deputy Director of Data Analytics in the Data Management and Data Analytics Department at the Bank of Thailand. Before joining the central bank, he worked on Thailand’s Innovation Policy at the Ministry of Science and Technology.

He holds a B.S. with triple majors in Computer Science, Economics, and Discrete Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.S. in Language Technology from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in Information Science from Pennsylvania State University.
