Carmen Arias is Advisor in the BIS Innovation Hub (BISIH) Singapore Center, leading the Business and Commercial area within Project Nexus, a blueprint for instant cross border payments.
She joined the Singapore Center in July, working in an innovative team that works in a very collaborative and positive environment across Hubs and Central Banks. Her main mandate in Nexus is to promote the private sector engagement and its contribution to the project, creating the value proposition, business case and go to market strategy.
Before the BISIH, she worked for eleven years at Banco Santander, performing different roles across businesses and regions all related to the payments industry:
- Global Cash Management Product Owner (Payments and Collections) across 14 countries
- PagoNxt (Santander’s Fintech Group) Payments Product Manager – eMoney Payments & Online Banking
- PagoFX (Santander’s payments remittances services) Payments Operations Responsible
- Project Manager for Global Cash Management and Client Service
