Gautam Bhardwaj is a co-founder of pinBox Solutions, a Singapore and India based social pensionTech committed to expanding pension coverage among self-employed women and youth in Africa and Asia. In the past, Gautam led a team that helped the Indian Government design and roll out India's National Pension System (NPS) that today has roughly 40 million subscribers and over US$125 billion in aggregate AUM. In 2017 and 2018, he led a pinBox team that helped the Government of Rwanda to design, build and implement a government-sponsored digital micro-pension scheme that has achieved nearly 3 million voluntary subscribers (half of whom are women) and an AUM of ~RwF 50 billion. In 2006, Gautam established a social enterprise that helped over 2.5 million self-employed women in India to start saving for their old age. He has also served on several government and regulatory committees on pension, tax and financial sector reforms.
