      Javier Pérez-Tasso is Chief Executive Officer of Swift, the global cooperative and financial market infrastructure underpinning the secure and reliable exchange of more than 15 billion financial messages each year across a community of over 12,500 institutions worldwide, translating to moving the world’s GDP value on the Swift network, every three days.

      Since joining Swift in 1995, Mr. Pérez-Tasso has held senior leadership roles across the organisation, including Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Executive, Americas & United Kingdom. Since becoming CEO in 2019, he has led Swift’s strategy to transform cross-border payments and securities services, mobilising the industry around faster, more transparent, and inclusive international transactions.

      Under his leadership, Swift has accelerated the modernisation of the global financial ecosystem, guiding the community through the migration to ISO 20022 while advancing next-generation transaction services and infrastructure. His strategic focus is on enabling the seamless movement of value across traditional financial systems, tokenised commercial bank money, central bank digital currencies, and emerging forms of regulated value – strengthening interoperability while preserving the trust, security and resilience on which global finance depends.

      Throughout his career at Swift, Mr. Pérez-Tasso has championed security and operational resilience, industry-wide collaboration and customer-led innovation. His leadership is focused on reinforcing the foundations of global financial connectivity while positioning the industry to navigate and shape, a rapidly evolving technology and market landscape.
