Chief Digital Officer, ASEAN, HSBC
A stalwart of the bank, Mr Hazir brings 18 years of leadership experience across HSBC’s footprint markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
As Chief Digital Officer, ASEAN, Mr Hazir is responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise level digital strategy for HSBC in South East Asia. Mr. Hazir continues to build on HSBCs strategic imperatives of “digitizing at scale” and is an industry thought leader for core and emerging technologies.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Hazir has held leadership roles within Commercial Banking, Transaction Banking and Strategy within the group. Most recently, he served as the Head of Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM) in Malaysia where the business achieved significant revenue growth, industry recognition and won marquee mandates under his leadership.
Mr Hazir is also a certified life coach, Lego Serious Play practitioner and has completed multiple qualifications in Leadership, Innovation Strategy and Design Thinking from INSEAD, IE Business School, MIT, LBS and the University of Cambridge working with the foremost thinkers in these disciplines. He also actively participates in the startup/fintech ecosystems, advising and mentoring state of the art technology startups across multiple sectors.
Having faced some significant challenges in his life, Shayan has since found inspiration and solace in helping others find their passion and purpose. Shayan continues to help people energize and reinvigorate their careers while coaching and mentoring young founders/CEOs with his own brand of authentic leadership.
