Tetsuro Imaeda joined The Sumitomo Bank, Ltd. (a predecessor bank of SMBC – Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) in 1986. Over his professional career Tetsuro Imaeda has amassed extensive experience in the banks’ overseas operations. In 2014, Tetsuro Imaeda was appointed Executive Officer of SMBC (General Manager of SMBC Singapore Branch), and in 2016, he was appointed Managing Executive Officer (Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa Division; CEO of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe Limited). In 2020, Tetsuro Imaeda was appointed Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of SMBC. Tetsuro Imaeda was appointed as Co-Head of Global Banking Unit of SMBC (Co-Head of Global Business Unit of SMFG) in April 2022, and as Deputy President of SMBC and SMFG in 2023.
