The Three Shifts of AI Payments Decide. AI assistants are becoming the gateway to commerce, and until they solve what to buy, how to pay is a castle in the air. Pay. An agent can start a payment, but only a merchant can accept it, and stablecoins are the closest thing to an open layer across today's closed issuing and acquiring systems. Trust. Agent payments and human-in-the-loop pull in opposite directions; only trust, built on AI-powered compliance and licensed data custody, lets humans move from approving every payment to setting the rules.
