Martha Sazon
President & CEO GCashMartha Sazon is the President & CEO of Mynt, which operates GCash, the #1 Finance App in the Philippines. Appointed as CEO in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, her focus on customer centricity has propelled GCash into a lifeline to many Filipinos. With Martha at the helm, GCash is now the Philippines' first and only “duacorn” with over 69M registered users, a 3x increase of its user base vs pre-pandemic. As a result, GCash is now a household name and is being used as a verb in the country.
Prior to GCash, Martha had 20 years of experience in various industries like food, OTC drugs, personal care, and telco. Martha spent 12 years at Globe Telecom during which she pioneered many breakthroughs and achievements for a wide array of products and headed the Broadband business.
Martha has also worked as a Marketing Director and Category Leader for Asia at GlaxoSmithKline and as a Senior Product Manager for Del Monte.
Martha has attended and finished IMD and INSEAD executive programs and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting (Cum Laude), from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
Mary Ellen Iskenderian
President & CEO Women's World BankingMary Ellen Iskenderian is President and CEO of Women’s World Banking, the global nonprofit devoted to giving low-income women in the developing world access to the financial tools and resources they require to achieve security and prosperity. She joined Women’s World Banking in 2006 and leads the Women’s World Banking global team, based in New York, and also serves as a member of the Investment Committee of its two impact investment funds.
Mary Ellen is a passionate advocate for women’s economic empowerment through greater access to finance and is a leading voice for women’s leadership in financial services. She is a leading voice for the world’s one billion women not actively engaged with the financial sector, urging the banking industry to view this community as a powerful new market of small business owners, heads of households, and consumers of financial products and services.
Prior to Women’s World Banking, Mary Ellen worked for 17 years at the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank. She had previously worked for the investment bank Lehman Brothers. Mary Ellen is a permanent member of the Council on Foreign Relations, as well as a member of the Women’s Forum of New York. She serves as a Director on the Board of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
A 2017 Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Fellow, Mary Ellen holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in International Economics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Most recently, she was recognized in the Forbes 50 over 50: Investment list, which highlights female investors and financial leaders. Her first book, There’s Nothing Micro About a Billion Women: Making Finance Work for Women, was published by MIT Press earlier this year.
Melinda French Gates
Co-chair, Bill & Melinda Gates FoundationMelinda French Gates is a philanthropist, businesswoman, and global advocate for women and girls. As co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, she shapes and approves the foundation’s strategies, reviews results, and sets the organization’s overall direction. She works with grantees and partners to further the foundation’s goal of improving equity in the United States and around the world.
Through her work at the foundation over more than two decades, Melinda has seen firsthand that empowering women and girls can transform the health and prosperity of families, communities, and societies. Her work has led her to focus increasingly on gender equity as a lever for change. In 2015, Melinda founded Pivotal Ventures, a company working to accelerate the pace of social progress in the United States.
She is the author of the bestselling book The Moment of Lift, in which she introduces readers to the inspiring women she has met during her work and travels around the world and shares her own journey to becoming an advocate for women and girls.
The second of four children, Melinda grew up in Dallas, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and economics and an MBA, both from Duke University. She spent the first decade of her career developing multimedia products at Microsoft before leaving the company to focus on her family and philanthropic work.
She has three children—Jenn, Rory, and Phoebe—and lives in Seattle, Washington.
Michael Shaulov
Co-founder & CEO FireblocksMichael Shaulov is the CEO and co-founder of Fireblocks, a secure digital asset infrastructure company. Prior to Fireblocks, he co-founded Lacoon Mobile Security, which was acquired by Check Point, and was then appointed the Head of Products, Mobile and Cloud Security for Check Point. Michael is a serial cybersecurity entrepreneur and investor. He is also a recognized industry speaker, delivering talks at RSA Conference, BlackHat and Infosec. Before his commercial endeavors, Michael pioneered the mobile security field in an elite military technological unit (8200), where he received the Israeli Presidential Excellency Honor for his contributions. He holds a BSc in Computer Sciences and Physics from Ben-Gurion University, Israel.
Piyush Gupta
CEO DBS BankMr. Piyush Gupta has been Chief Executive Officer and Director of DBS Group since 2009.
DBS is a leading financial services group in Asia, headquartered in Singapore. Recognised for its global leadership, DBS has been named "World’s Best Bank" by several global publications like Euromoney and Global Finance. The bank is at the forefront of leveraging digital technology to shape the future of banking, and was also named “World’s Best Digital Bank” by Euromoney. In addition, in 2019, DBS was listed among the top ten most transformative organisations of the decade by Harvard Business Review.
Prior to joining DBS, Piyush had a 27 year career at Citigroup, where his last position was Chief Executive Officer for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Piyush is Vice-Chairman of the Institute of International Finance, Washington, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Executive Committee. In addition, he is a member of Singapore’s Advisory Council on the Ethical Use of AI and Data, Singapore Management University (SMU) Board of Trustees and Bretton Woods Committee - Advisory Council. He sits on the boards of Singapore’s National Research Foundation, and the Singapore’s Council for Board Diversity. Piyush is a term trustee of the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA). Previously, he has been a member of the Singapore Emerging Stronger Taskforce, aimed at defining Singapore’s future in a post-Covid world, the UN Secretary General’s Task Force on Digital Financing of the Sustainable Development Goals, and the McKinsey Advisory Council.
Piyush has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, India and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM, Ahmedabad.
Piyush was named one of the world’s top 100 best-performing chief executives in Harvard Business Review - 2019 edition of "The CEO 100". In 2020, he was awarded the Public Service Star by the President of Singapore for his meritorious services to the nation. He was named Global Indian of the Year by the Economic Times in 2021, Singapore Business Awards' Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year in 2016, and Singapore Business Leader of the Year by CNBC in 2014. In his personal capacity, he takes a keen interest in nature, and is a Co-Chairman of the BirdLife International Advisory Group.
Richmond Teo
Co-founder Paxos/BUSDRich Teo co-founded Paxos in 2012 and currently serves as CEO Asia of Paxos and also as an advisor to Binance and BUSD. Paxos is an institutionally focused crypto services provider that counts PayPal, Bank of America, Mastercard and Binance as clients. Prior to Paxos, he served as a Principal at Cedar Hill Capital Partners, overseeing the firm’s investments across the capital structure of various financial services institutions. Rich has more than a decade of experience in analyzing and investing in financial technology, market structure, and clearing corporations. He was also a Financial Analyst at Citi where he worked on mergers and acquisitions involving exchanges, trading technology, banks and brokers. Rich received a BBA from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Roman Regelman
CEO of Securities Services and Digital BNY MellonRoman Regelman is Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Securities Services and Digital. He is a member of BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee.
Securities Services includes Asset Servicing and Issuer Services, which comprises the Corporate Trust and Depositary Receipts businesses. As CEO of Securities Services, Roman focuses on product strategy and development to accelerate the transformation of Securities Services into a more data- and analytics-led business. He is responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of solutions to our Asset Servicing and Corporate Trust and Depositary Receipts clients.
As Head of Digital, Roman sets the direction for the firm’s digital future and drives investments in our digital capabilities, including data management, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics.
Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Roman took on senior leadership roles that spanned Chief Operating Officer, Chief Digital Officer, Head of Transformation and Head of Customer Journeys. He was a partner and managing director of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he co-led its Financial Institutions Digital business and led Customer Journey, North American Financial Institutions Operations and Lean Practices. At BCG, he ran numerous financial institution and service company transformations, including end-to-end customer journeys, process digitization, Agile, restructuring technology and operations. Prior to BCG, he worked at Booz and Company, Bain & Company, NerveWire/Wipro, Mitchell Madison Group, One Core, GTE/BBN and Gazeta Distribution.
Roman earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Petersburg State Technical University, St. Petersburg, Russia and a Master of Business Administration from Olin Graduate Business School at Babson College, Wellesley, Mass. He is a recognized author and thought leader on digital and financial services industry topics.
