Mr. Nobuya Kawasaki is an Executive Officer and Managing Director, Deputy Group Head of Global Commercial Banking Business Group in MUFG Bank. His responsibilities run across promoting collaborations among MUFG and MUFG’s invested financial institutions, and pursuing in-organic strategies for MUFG. Prior to the current position, Mr. Kawasaki was in charge of M&A advisory as a Managing Director for seven years at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, one of the major subsidiaries of MUFG. He has also worked in a division specializing in securitization of debt notes for seven years.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Kawasaki has experienced various M&A / investment deals including the following projects: strategic investments in Bank Danamon in Indonesia, Security Bank in the Philippines, Home Credit in Indonesia and the Philippines, and Akulaku in Indonesia, as well as divestment of CIMB shares in Malaysia and BRI Finance in Indonesia. During his 26 years of career with MUFG Bank, Mr. Kawasaki has developed strong M&A and corporate finance expertise and relationships with the management of institutions in which MUFG has invested.
