Anders La Cour

Before Anders la Cour Co-founded and became Co-Chief Executive Officer of Banking Circle (then, Saxo Payments) in 2013, Anders worked as a technology and financial M&A lawyer at a tier one law firm in Copenhagen. His experience in legal M&A, as well as in venture capital, coupled with his strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mind-set means Anders has a sound understanding of the financial tech industry. In identifying a flaw in how the FinTech sector is serviced by the banks, he seized the opportunity to bring a solution to market that has proven to be a serious game-changer and challenger to the status quo. In 2018, EQT Partners acquired the company along with its founders in a management buy-out. A banking licence was secured in January 2020 and the company fully adapted the name Banking Circle. With the acquisition of multiple businesses, Banking Circle Group was incorporated, where Anders transitioned into the position as Group Chief Executive Officer, based in New York. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of Banking Circle Group as well as investor relations.

In 2020 Anders was appointed as inaugural Chair of the non-profit business association, Emerging Payments Association EU, having been on the EPA UK Advisory board since 2016. He is regularly invited to speak and present at industry events around the world, including Money20/20 USA, Oracle OpenWorld, BankInno, Innovate Finance and Money20/20 Europe, has won multiple awards and had thought leadership articles published in a range of industry publications.
