Standard Chartered Bank has a history of 158 years in Singapore, with our first branch opened in 1859. We were among the first international banks to receive a Qualifying Full Bank (QFB) license, an endorsement of our long-standing commitment to our business in the country. We serve a wide spectrum of clients providing Retail and SME banking services, Corporate and Institutional banking services as well as Private Banking services. We employ more than 8,000 people in Singapore, where our global business and global Technology & Operations function is managed. The eXellerator, the Bank’s innovation lab in Singapore was opened in March 2016. A collaboration space where business units come together to solve current business issues, the eXellerator uses methodologies like rapid prototyping, test and learn and human-centred design. It leads the Bank’s efforts in Fintech collaboration and understanding emerging technologies with a focus on what this means and how we can use it to improve the client experience and explore new business models.
